James Coleman is an American artist best known for his luminous landscape paintings and his work as a background artist and color stylist at Walt Disney Studios. During his 22-year Disney career, Coleman contributed to beloved films including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Fox and the Hound, and The Great Mouse Detective. In 1991, he left Disney to pursue fine art full-time. Inspired by nature, Coleman’s paintings are celebrated for their vibrant color, dramatic light, and peaceful, inviting landscapes. He works in oils, watercolor, gouache, and pastel, and his art is held in collections around the world.
